Caritas crisis

Caritas crises
This week for reading we have been learning about Caritas, Papua New Guinea and what we can do to help. I hardly new what Caritas was but after this reading workshop I learnt a lot. This is my follow up about Papua New Guinea.

Do you know Much about Caritas? If you do what is it?

Perimeter

Perimeter
For Maths this week we learnt about the perimeter. We had to work out the perimeter of part of the court so Archie and mesmerised the perimeter of the grass. We started to do it but the measuring thing wasn't working so we grabbed  another one. We finally got the calculations and they were 4 meters  by 14 meters so the perimeter works out to 36. And we had to work out how many times it would take if too walk 2 kilometres, it was 56 times. It wasn't exactly it was 2016 meters. We also had to make a poster.

What are you learning about in maths this week?

Rolling bowling

Rolling bowling
This week for writing I have been learning about my readers. I was pretending to write instructions to a five year old.  What I mean when I say '' I have been learning about my reader'' Is that you wouldn't put big words in a five year old book that they wouldn't know yet. So for our follow up we had to write  game instructions, One for five year old's and one for 10 year old's. Here's my five year old follow up.

Have you done this? If you have what game did you choose?

Treaty of waitangi

Treaty of waitangi
This week we have been learning about the treaty of waitangi. Did you know Very few Maori spoke English, So a translator named Henry Williams and his son Edward translated it in only one night. That’s one of the reasons the treaty was misunderstood.. Also Some chiefs told not to sign the treaty. Because the British stole their land But Two chefs Hone Heka Pokal and Tamati waka Nene said to sign the treaty because it would stop fights between tribes and that trades would be easier and between Maori and British. Here is some of my treaty of waitangi work.

Do you know much about the treaty? If you do Can you please tell me?
