Positive vs Negative

Positive vs Negative
This week for reading we were judging if something was Positive or negative. Not did we have to debate in something was Positive or negative we had to include the fanatics. Here is my slide show.

Have you ever used the fantastic's?
If you have what did you think of them?

Maths problem solving

Maths problem solving
This week for maths problem we were focusing on ratio. For the last couple weeks we have been doing problems about the bike track because it is getting built.

Knowledge Hotspot →

Using the image above, what is the ratio between the pedal gear and sprocket?

If you were to turn the crank 9 full rotations how many revolutions would the wheel do?

If one rotation of the pedal gear moves the bike 150cm, how far will the bike travel around the track if you did 5 full rotations of the pedal gear.

Which gear ratio would you have to pedal more as you go once around the bike track - 4:1 or 2:1, what is your reasoning?

  1. There are currently three big tree stumps sitting in the way of where the bike track will go.

The stump removal company have quoted $253 to get the three tree stumps removed.

They are currently running a special of 20% off stump removal for the next week. If we book in during this time…

What would the dollar amount of our discount be?

What would the total price now be to get the 3 stumps removed?

Now that we have calculated the price of removal, the company have made contact and said we can have a further 17% off if we pay in advance, what will the cost now be, if we take up their offer?

Do you like working out the ratio of something?

The Fantastic's

The Fantastic's
This week for reading we were learning about the fantastic's. For our create task we had to spot out all of the fantastic's from some books. This is what I found.

Feeling:‘Tell Topp’. But I was scared she’d fire me.”

Asking:  What is it?

Noticing: I start to notice the houses.

Touching: Your feet sink into soft sand.

Action:“He’s working on a very exciting project

Smelling:Bright liquids bubble in the third lab room. They smell delicious.

Tasting: The crummy texture melted in their mouths.

Imagining: Zadie tried to imagine the world outside.

Checking:Noah tried to sound strong, but Zadie could hear the cracks

What do you think about the fantastic's?

How big is the back field

How big is the back field
This week for maths we had too workout how big the backfield is? How big the bike track is? and lots more. Me and Ethan had to check each others work and agree what the answers were. Here is a photo of what we had to work out.

Do you rather work out  the perimeter of something or the area of something?

Hansel and Gretel

Hansel and Gretel
This week we were learning about the fantastic and how we can put it in our writing. Here is a photo of the fantastic and one paragraph of my writing.

The forest was menacing and murk as chills were spiders crawling along their backs. The forest was like a monster as red gloomy eyes were everywhere looking at them. The sour scent sailed across the room over powering the sweet aroma of the cotton candy. Smacking Hansel and Gretel right in the face.  They paused. They paused wordlessly. They paused, wordlessly until the smell led them deeper into the dark forest. They both were led following the smell as if they were hypnotised walking like a zombie.

What is your favourite fairy tail storey?
